Sheriff Mike Neal and the staff of the Rhea County Sheriff’s Department want to welcome to the team two of our newest patrol deputies. Deputies Dakota Cox and Blake Evans completed 12 weeks of intensive training at the Cleveland State Law Enforcement Training Academy. This basic training consisted of 560 hours of topics that ranged from Constitutional Law, DUI investigations, accident investigation and many more.

The training also consisted of hands on training in firearms, driving, defensive tactics, vehicle stops, etc. We held a ceremony at the Sheriff’s Office today for these fine young men as they begin their career in law enforcement, and members of the Sheriff’s Department and family members gathered to celebrate this occasion.
