SCAM ALERT

It has been brought to our attention that citizens are receiving phone calls from individuals claiming to be with the Rhea County Sheriff Department Civil Citation Unit. The callers state that a warrant will be issued for the arrest of the victim if they don’t remit a certain amount of money to the caller.

Please be assured that the Rhea County Sheriff’s Department would never conduct business in that manner. These are scam calls. The Civil Citation Unit is not in any way associated with the Rhea County Sheriff’s Department.
