On Tuesday, August 7, 2024, Narcotics Detectives and Patrol Deputies conducted a traffic stop that resulted in an arrest and narcotic seizure. Detectives observed Jason Lawson, who had active warrants out of Meigs County, turn into the Friendly Market and immediately conducted a traffic stop. Detectives placed Lawson under arrest for the active warrants and located drug paraphernalia on his person. K-9 Gator was deployed on the vehicle where he indicated the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. Upon a search of the vehicle, Detectives located 9.1 ounces of methamphetamines. Lawson was charged with:
Manufacture, Delivery, Sale, or Possession of Methamphetamines; Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia; and the outstanding warrants out of Meigs County.
