The Rhea County Sheriff’s Department will be conducting sobriety checkpoints and highly visible saturation patrols beginning October 12th, 2018 and continuing through October 31st, 2018 at various locations throughout the cities & county on state and secondary roadways.
Officers will concentrate their enforcement efforts on removing impaired drivers from the roadways. The Rhea County Sheriff’s Department is committed to keeping citizen’s & travelers safe and helping them arrive safely at their destinations.
“We want everyone to be safe at all times. Deputies will be watching for the drunk or impaired driver, speeding, seat belt usage and the aggressive driver to reduce traffic crashes and fatalities throughout this month,” Sheriff Mike Neal said. “We have to work together to make our roads safer year-round.”
