Severe Weather Preparedness & Permanent Structure Locations
Rhea County Emergency Management is actively monitoring the forecasted severe weather expected to impact our area. Emergency personnel and resources are on standby and ready to respond as needed.
We are working closely with the Rhea County Sheriff’s Office and the Rhea County Highway Department to ensure a coordinated response to any hazards, including roadway obstructions, power outages, and emergency situations.
Temporary Locations Open for Those in Need
All locations open at 5PM Eastern Time (Subject to change to earlier time)
If you live in a non-permanent structure, a flood-prone area, or a vulnerable location, please consider relocating to one of the following designated permanent structure locations:
• Rhea Middle School
• Rhea Elementary School
• Walden’s Ridge Community Center
• Grandview Community Center
• Graysville City Hall
• Spring City Middle School
• Wolf Creek Baptist Church
These locations will be open to provide a permanent structure during the storm.
Severe Weather Safety Tips:
✔️ Identify a safe location, such as a basement, storm shelter, or interior room.
✔️ Secure outdoor belongings to prevent wind-related hazards.
✔️ Charge electronic devices and keep flashlights and extra batteries readily available.
✔️ Avoid unnecessary travel during severe weather conditions.
✔️ Report downed power lines, fallen trees, or other hazards to local authorities.
🚨 Please note: Only service animals are permitted at these locations.
