On Monday September 30th Officers with the Rhea County Sheriffs Office, Rhea County Rescue Squad, as well as Rhea County Emergency Services personal responded to Newport Tennessee at the Request of the Tri-State Mutual Aid Network working in conjunction with TEMA. Sheriff Neal was able to provide 4 teams of personal including a K-9 team to assist with the grid searches that are being conducted in the area. These search teams are working on foot in assigned areas going through debris and structures that have been washed away by flood waters. These searches are treacherous and very time consuming however, they are necessary to ensure that no one is trapped or left behind. We would ask you to continue to pray for those families, First Responders and all those involved in the relief efforts.
