Court security is a vital component of the daily operation of Rhea County Justice Center Courts. The officers assigned to court duty are all highly trained and experienced in all security measures involving the court system, handling prisoners and securing the safety of the public.
The new Rhea County Justice Center contains 3 courtrooms, Circuit, Sessions, and Criminal. The court security team monitors all people coming into the facility via the main entrance that feeds the courtrooms.
Court officers are trained to identify potential threats to the safety of anyone in the Rhea County Justice Center courts and prevent the action before a problem arises. No guns, or other than law enforcement personnel or sharp objects including knives are allowed in the Rhea County Justice Center Court area.
Everyone entering the Justice Center court area is subject to search. Court officers are required to attend regular classroom and in-service training and receive certification for courtroom security by the State of Tennessee
