On June 20, 2024, Rhea County Sheriff’s Department Patrol Deputies observed a vehicle that matched the description of a suspect involved in an earlier altercation involving a weapon in Cumberland County while on a traffic stop on Jewett Rd. As the suspect vehicle passed the deputies it accelerated and took off a higher rate of speed than the posted speed limit. Deputies were able to locate the vehicle in a driveway behind a residence in the 400 Block of Jewett Rd. unoccupied. As Deputies searched the area for the suspect, Christopher Garrison, identified as the driver, came out behind from behind a building on the property. Deputies checked the area where Mr. Garrison was hiding and located a weapon and narcotics. Deputies also located two more weapons and a large amount of U.S. Currency in Mr. Garrison’s possession.
